False KOSing Okay?
#11
And this, everyone, is why you read the rules, as shown here in the 4th bullet point under reasons to call a KOS. Please read the rules found here before making false reports on the forum.

Reasons to call a Kill-on-Sight(KOS):

The below lists of reasons to KOS and sus are for reference, and cover the most common issues. However, these are not complete lists and do not necessarily cover all edge cases. If anything comes up that is not covered by what is shown below, it is to be handled at staff discretion. Killing someone who called a legitimate kos based on the below reasons may yield a slay.
  •  Killing Detectives, except when they are RDMing
  •  Throwing incendiary grenades near non-kosed players
  •  Entering traitor room while unproven
  •  Calling a KOS on someone who is proven Innocent and not a Detective

Thank you for the report, but this is not abuse. It seems you are misunderstood and probably want to take another look at !motd, so I will break it down so you can clearly understand.

As Shwaggins has graciously posted this snippet of the reasons to a kos for us, you can see two convenient things that apply here, the first bullet point and the last. We'll start with the last bullet point because it applies to this case more than the first. It is a legitimate reason to kos someone who calls a kos on someone who has been proven innocent and someone who is not a detective... meaning they are kosed for being a traitor. So that means it would make it an illegitimate reason to call another kos on someone who called a kos on an individual who IS a Detective, hence the reason you were given a slay. Chris Farley didn't do anything wrong here. Perhaps a little more clear explanation of the rule itself could've been given at most.

Sure, if this was a different context and the Detective was going around slaughtering people for no just reason and a kos was called on them for that it would be different. Something like that would fall under "However, these are not complete lists and do not necessarily cover all edge cases" and "If anything comes up that is not covered by what is shown below, it is to be handled at staff discretion." Most of the time people just call koses on Detectives for a joke and it's not that hard to hold tab to actually see if they are a Detective as well, so I don't understand why people would take it seriously anyway.

It appears you seem to be misunderstood on something else as well. Anyone can open the damagelogs and view your own reports. Press F8 to access the damagelogs and !report then click the view reports tab to view your own active reports.
