Title: ttt_barrier
I made this map back in August 2024 intended for my friends and I to play on. However, it seems like it's caught a bit of attention to my surprise, and subsequently I'd love to see what the Dinkleberg TTT community would think of it.
Description: Small/medium sized map that takes place in a fortress area. This map would have an excellent place in the map pool for a few reasons. For one, it is a completely unique map and one that deviates from a lot of the classic maps being added (nothing wrong with classic maps mind you, but it's nice to see a recently-created TTT map!). More significantly however, the map is small enough to be fast-paced and have rounds last at least under 5 minutes or more. This should act as a good alternative from larger maps already in the server, such as crummycradle, desparados, and more.
Lastly, the map offers a variety of environments that players can use to their advantage. From linear hallways to open-ended outside areas, all play-styles should be fair game in this map. As such, it should work wonderfully from a few players up to 32. I intended for this map to closely resemble custom HL2 maps that were beginning to be released sometime in the mid-2000's; as such, this map makes heavy use out of textures from HL2 and sports a look that is reminiscent of older & simpler times with the Source engine.
Steam Link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...3314246797
Map Size: 81 MB.
Features: Custom textures (as well as HL2 textures), a user-activated disco room with 14 randomized songs that could play, func_details, little details such as props, destructible environments, dust_motes etc., 3D skybox, able to jump off the map because why not, weapons/ammo scattered, underwater section, breakable glass, explosive barrels, and much more.
I am very pleased to share this map with y'all and I hope you enjoy it! If the version of the map I linked above doesn't seem to run well on your PC, try this alternative version of the map I published which makes different optimizations: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...3358538813
