it is but you need to see more then 1/4 second to actually tell what was happening, they could have just scrolled through their weapons.

just wondering how can you discern whether they didnt walk into the spring mine themselves as opposed to jack holding it themselves being its invisible and you can't see it regardless other than assuming they did it bc they've done it before

Pretty conflicted, definitely only got a few frames, and it is entirely in the realm of possibility that in those few frames that person just walked on a spring mine while that person had a magneto stick out, and it would have looked identical on your screen. This, coupled with it being a your POV vs us viewing in death scenes thing changes our first impression of it as well. I think that the slay is fine ultimately. This is one of those shit happens slays. Most RDMs are what people think are valid KOSs, it happens.
But hey, at least all of the staff are agreeing on our interpretation of this. So that's a win for you. :)

How did you know they were holding a spring mine? The only way to see a spring mine as an inno is to see the shadow on the ground and you were never close enough to see that, making this a kill on sus.
I do understand your frustration. I’m personally of the philosophy that if I get caught doing something, even if it’s kill on sus, I don’t report. I got caught. But I can also understand that if someone plans do to something specifically in a way that won’t get them killed, and then they get killed, they have every right to want a slay, even if I wouldn’t.

You probably should have let him go since you were so far away and couldn't see the shadow of the mine and just called him out as highly sus.
However, it's extremely obvious what he was doing, and if you're a long time mod on the server I think you should know better not to report for being killed for borderline KOS things. I get killed almost every time I'm on for mega sus things (like standing next to one of my barnacles) but I think it's important to swallow your pride occasionally and just accept you got caught.
