What do you plan to do as a web staff member?: 

I believe that through my time staffing TTT I have proven myself especially capable in applying our set community standards/gameplay rules in a fair manner. It's weird to say, but I think with how long I have been around and the various ups and downs I am a bit more patient with people and situations mostly on server allowing me to have a good understanding of multiple perspectives. I realize web staff probably can't see it, but I think I do a really good job of communicating distinctions between perspectives in TTT discussions while still keeping the conversation on track relative to established guidelines. In generally I think web staff do a good job, and I want to be part of that team. I know people get frustrated with it, but having forum warnings, ttt warnings, discord warnings ect gives people who come close to the line often a chance to step back and evaluate. This prevents some of the all or nothing bans we have had in the past. 

What made you decide to apply?: 

Maybe I am really off here, but I hope I am viewed as a fair person. Sometimes that makes those around me a bit upset as I they believe I am being too charitable, but at the end of the day I think benefit of the doubt goes a long way. I really don't feel like the current web staff team has any issues that need to be "fixed" but I think I can provide a really strong perspective based both on my history in the community as well as my generally staffing disposition. Over the last week or so I have felt like there is a lot more I could be doing to participate in the overall community outside of just focusing my efforts on TTT warns :). I apologize for waiting till the last day, but I wanted to get a better feel for where the community was at, and if this application would even be a good value add. 

Anything else you would like to add?:

I would appreciate anyone who has worked with me on TTT staff to give their opinion on how I handle things there; I think that is the best analogue on how I would behave as a Web Mod. For any criticism I am going to plan to give one response if it would be constructive, and then let whoever made the post give the last word. Also if you are worried about getting blown up on the forums over something (Which shouldn't happen but things have been a bit frisky recently) feel free to pm me. I always have the forums as an open tab so I can be a quick response person if things are getting out of hand. I have basic forum experiences as well being a ttt mod before so if a web mod gets me new access to things im sure I can catch on quick :)

What made you decide to apply?: I figured it be a good opportunity to throw my hat into the ring and give it an honest attempt. There are alot of amazing applicants so im not to worried but I wanted to give this an honest try because I do think it would be a neat opportunity to me.

How can you help the community beyond Forums as an Admin?: This is a tough one, but I can give input on decisions and changes that could affect the entire community (community bans, etc.), assist other admins with tasks that require more hands (for instance, helping to test and implement new relay features), and help plan/coordinate events involving the community as a whole (maybe a forum/discord scavenger hunt sometime soon like reina's egg hunt?).

What made you decide to apply?: I've wanted to help out the community as best I can ever since I joined in 2018, but I haven't always expressed that in the best of ways. I believe I have proven that I've grown as a person and I am far past my days of being a drama-starting shithead simply because I didn't like something, and this is my chance to take on bigger responsibilities now that I'm out of that phase. (basically, this redemption arc goin crazy)

What do you plan to do as a web staff member?: pretty much just wait for stuff to happen (and then yell at people when it does), plus obviously I'm good friends with the current staff so I know we'd work well together, despite us disagreeing on various things, which is probably good, adds perspective while still being cohesive, and I tend to have a pretty good bit of knowledge on when threads go too far and whatnot, all that jazz (comes from experience), honestly I don't expect to need to do too much too often, things have been pretty lax for a good bit (despite forum rep being a thing again cough cough)

(I set up a community's forums by myself at one point and designed it's logo). It's quiet obvious i'd be willing to shut down vile or harrassing posts, but Dinks is at a quiet point so there is really nothing  crazy happening. I feel that just being a guide for information and swapping threads to the correct spot is really all the happens.... I really don't know what more you want in this part.

Why am I applying: I'm applying because I like the community, that's the bottom line. I believe I use the forums in a way, more often than not, that is fairly neutral, and more critical-thinking-forward, whether that's posted publicly or privately. I believe heavily in conversation, and don't want to see (which I don't believe it has) any amount of censorship, and think any thread can be salvageable as long as it's still being actively engaged, before it turns into pure shitposting. I aim to make sure people get to say their piece, but also want to make sure it doesn't just become a back and forth of ceaseless bickering. I care about this place, and don't like seeing people leave the community completely over things like staff appointments and forum drama.

What can I do for the community: I think this role in general can transcend the idea of just content moderation into more of a debate moderation role as well. People tend to leave people to their devices until there is shitposting or harassment, but it doesn't tend to really foster a conversation. Of course I'll keep up with content moderation as well, that's easy enough, but taking a more proactive approach on combating arguments and thread derailment in a way that people can come away from thinking the conversation was positive is equally important, and important for the health of the forums as a whole, especially recently.

Other: I think, if one were to compare me to some people that achieve staffing positions (through voting or not) under a microscope, you can see that things I've been involved in tend to be pretty negligible in comparison, and are always fewer and farther between incidences. People that speak with me one-on-one, no matter how heavy of issues I have with them, tend to come out of the conversation thinking we made a heavy bit of progress.]]>
