It seems Salty has had a "character development" according to what I see in this thread. I say this because I don't know his story, but for me the past is irrelevant as long as a reformation is existing in the present, and I think this is the case. I know he is a good guy and he's always here just to enjoy the game in a healthy way (except when he's drunk, but I know that not everybody has an excellent behavior) and regarding handling hard situations, I haven't seen him in action yet but as I see the previous feedback he seems to be ok. So for me this is a +1
