I am leaving a submission, and like Bryan, I commend that the team is reaching out to the community for their thoughts.
I didn't have too strong of feelings on most questions except for how to get the server back up and running - my thoughts on this question are copied below:
We need to keep the regulars happy - that really is the only way. A dedicated group of players that will get onto the server after they get off work each night is the way to keep the server alive. They need to be the ones that are excited to get on, even if that means sitting there for 30 minutes waiting for their friends to come online and join them. They are the ones that get the server up and running each night. No guests are going to do that - they will not join a dead server. Only our regulars and staff members will do so. As such, the only thing I can recommend is listening to the regulars more, and giving genuine appreciation and consideration to their suggestions. If they are telling you that a certain player is a major problem - look into their complaints and deal with it. If they tell you that a map is broke - fix it or take it out of the rotation without delay. If they are tired of playing the same 10 maps every single night - add some new maps to the rotation. And, while I know it might be controversial take, sometimes regulars do need to be treated differently from guests. They are the ones that have dedicated hours upon hours of their lives to this server and community, and deserve more grace than some one-off players.
And, after reading Bryan's comment, the efforts to keep the regulars satisfied should not come at the expense of our guests. Each one of us was once a guest and ended up coming back because we enjoyed the community and server style.
Finally, and as a former staff member, I know how difficult and glacial it can be - try to fix broken things quicker. The load screen shouldn't be broken for months, and shotguns shouldn't be heard across the entire map for months. These are problems that should be fixed overnight, not over a fortnight.
