An Interesting Problem - RussEfarmer - 01-26-2020
I've had a problem with gmod capping my framerate at 144fps for the past few days, but under very specific circumstances. I'll bullet it out:
- Only happens on Dinklebergs Prophunt
- Only happens in Borderless Windowed and Windowed
- FPS limit set to 5000
- V-Sync is off
- Has not been happening until yesterday
- The strangest one yet, when I begin recording in OBS, the framerate is UNCAPPED.
I've found that turning off G-SYNC fixed the problem, but that's not very ideal, I need mah frames. Not sure if anyone can help with this, but the most relevant thing I could find is a similar problem in CSGO that was solved by reinstalling Windows. Somewhat annoying.

lol i hope your joking. I have a mid tier pc and if your not getting 200+ fps in gmod, you need an upgrade. Anything below that is not acceptable and hopefully a bannable offense.

I don’t even know what my fps on gmod is, I don’t really even know how to check it honestly.

Type "cl_showfps 1" without the quotation marks into your console.. It'll show at the very top right of your screen. Really small easy to miss.

Additionally, net_graph 1 shows a bigger one on the bottom right that includes ping. I use it all the time.
