Dinks Community Plan 2025 - KaptainLes - 01-24-2025
Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening Dink's, as some of you may or may not be aware, the admin team met recently to discuss the plans / our goals for this year.
One of our main goals this year is to provide the community with consistent content updates in an expected schedule. This is so the community knows when to expect new content or updates and what is being worked on.
Our solution is a somewhat quarterly server update schedule, with general housekeeping stuff in between, focused around when most people expect content to be added (Easter, Summer, Halloween, Christmas).
All Server Updates are Dink Dependent
Easter Season: 1st of Jan 2025 to 30th of April 2025

12th Jan 2025 - Admin Discussion and Suggestions Meeting Easter 2025
Discuss Plans for Upcoming Season – Done (This post is the results of that meeting)
Minor Update (Community) General Stuff- Now, you are reading it
• Policy Update for: Max times for Applications and Appeals. Done
We are implementing the maximum times that the admin team has to respond to an Appeal or Application, and any admin who doesn't contribute to the discussion within the time period is considered to have abstained from voting.
2-week ban or less -> 3 Days Max
Over 2 week ban and staff apps -> 2 weeks max
All Server Bans and Admins Apps -> 1 month Max
• Map Suggestion thread for Easter Season, The Top 10 most upvoted maps (that are actually playable) will go onto the test server for evaluations, 7 will go through. Done
TBA (March, some of these things might happen earlier) – Minor Update (General Staff / Web / Discord)
Planned:
• New Developer Rank – (Non-Staff Position but in staff discord, for those who want to stay on developing for dinks after staff retirement or upon application) (Full Details TBD / Revamp of how devs look in the community) Done
• All Discord Bots Operational: Rep Bot, Server Status, Crimson Chin (Poof Bot Update Moved to major Update)
• Forums Rep (Hehe Hehe) Done
• Big Giveaway
• Main Discord Channel and Role Update
• Update Of How Suggestions Work (Discord + Forums)
• TTT MOTD Update Done
• Discord Rules Update
31st of March – Cut-off Date for Major TTT Update
Anything not finished by this date will be moved to Summer Season

Also a side list Rand is personally working on outside of this, and some thing inside of this:
I'm doing playermodels, I am bad at going through suggestions so if you have ideas, just send them to me on disc or link me to your suggestion on disc.
Also doing specific weapon skins, currently how they were all thrown into the add-on is a texture is just evenly plastered over every weapon, so each weapon can get every skin, but they're not very customizable. Going to do a few specific ones for specific guns, so I can make them look a bit prettier. This is a long process, so ideas probably will mostly get a no, but if you do have any, be my guest. I'm going to figure out some generic ones too, but....not sure about that April 12th deadline.
Trying to get some inter-community tournaments going, and ideally at some point would like to get some social media presence maybe. GCubed and I started testing a few things a long time ago before we both got busy, and I still have a few ideas. Just need to get other communities to respond.............................................

Yeah but a month? You can reach a solid conclusion quicker than that.

There are usually a lot that go into all server bans, and a lot of investigative work/questioning people is involved. Way more moving parts.

actually i think a month is on the lower end of things for that kind of stuff. also if nuclear power gets removed on april fools' day i will go to one of your houses and shoot myself in front of you.
