new idea for the portable tester - 茶 Tea - 08-30-2025

if a traitor uses a portable tester it should do 600 damage to the detective. this would incentivize traitors to use the portable tester and add a new interesting aspect to this tired and overused D weapon

it would also make it less overused

Interesting. But I am afraid no one wants to buy the tester if they make it like that.

youre not forced to use it until overtime (which i believe it still has to be a detective making you?) and then half the time some idiot spams it anyways. the real overused D item is grappling hook and should have a 10% chance to not hook properly, resulting in possible death or fall damage

I think this would make sense if it was 50 damage- they’d have to tag it twice to kill the detective with this method but it would still be a counter play to the detective item

This I can support, since I am terrible at using it my self and I want death to people better than me 3:-)

it still announces you killed the detective which provides a reason not to do this and a reason for the detective not to use testers when there's like 3 players left

this provides the same gameplay except in the rare case when there's only one charge so i am +0.75 on this

grapple hook users ruin the game almost as much as tester users

but at least the grapple requires some skill

Detective should be replaced with a new role called tf2 soldier
