What have been some challenges you've faced as a Tmod?: I've mostly faced issues with getting playtime, but now that the server is coming back from the dead this hasn't been an issue. There are some times where I've noticed looking back at it that I didn't de-esculate that well, but I do learn from these moments and try to do better if similar situations rise. Also the !bring command kinda sucks and I struggle with it from time to time.

What have you done well as Tmod?: Karma banning people who should be banned, handling reports, sending in ban requests, making sure people aren't stuck, making sure the server stays chill and fun.

What have been some challenges you've faced as a Tmod?: Finding a balance between applying maximum force of the rules versus letting players have a little fun. This primarily pertains to micspam and chat topics. I've found that a simple "hey, let's not talk about that" works well for risqué topics that probably shouldn't escalate. If someone is playing infrequent short audio clips through their mic, usually I'll let that slide unless it's immediately disruptive or breaks any other rules. Overall I think I do pretty well with this but I might need to start being a little shorter with some spammers (looking at you caribou)

What have you done well as Tmod?: Archiving my watchlist evidence and going through the proper avenues for bans/reports/dev additions. Our system isn't always perfect but I really respect what we're going for and I strive to mantain our sense of organization.
I also try to be consistent when it comes to attitude towards other players on the server, I actively try to make it a fun place and I think over the past month we've really succeeded in that goal.

What, in your mind, makes someone a good candidate for Mod? Do you feel that you exemplify these qualities?:
1) A moderator should be well-versed with the moderation system, and have quick access to in-game recording, the staff guidelines, and game rules to mantain an objective presence.
2) A moderator shouldn't be problematic towards other players, and shouldn't have a temper prone to retaliation or crashouts.
3) A moderator should try to have fun. At this point in the staff chain if you're not having fun it's a job and you will burn yourself out.
I meet these qualities and am willing to put in the effort to uphold them.

When did you first join the TTT Staff Team?: April 2025

What do you plan to do as a TTT Admin? What is restricting you from accomplishing this as a Mod?: I want to take a more active role in representing the player base and helping the server. I believe I've built a pretty good relationship with players and want to use that to help bridge communication between the community and staff, making people feel heard. I also want to contribute to improving the server itself wherever possible. I feel limited in my ability to influence larger decisions and contribute to general server development discussions as mod. As an Admin, I would be able to take on more responsibility and play a more direct role in the server’s growth. I also aim to continue to be an approachable presence so players feel comfortable reaching out with concerns or suggestions.

How can you help the community beyond TTT as an Admin?: I believe I bring an objective and level-headed perspective when handling situations. I take the time to understand all sides while considering evidence before making decisions, which helps ensure fairness and consistency. Beyond TTT, I want to contribute to making the overall community a welcoming and inclusive space. Whether it’s assisting with issues within other servers, supporting other staff members, or helping resolve conflicts, I want to positively impact the community as a whole, not just TTT.

What made you decide to apply?: Several things influenced my decision to apply. The loss of Virunas and the renewed effort from certain people to revive TTT, were the bigger ones. While I cannot replace what Virunas contributed, I want to help step up and support the server moving forward. With the recent decline and revival efforts, it became clear that the server needs dedicated staff willing to invest time and effort into rebuilding and maintaining it. Over the past week, I’ve been driving this revival, and it feels amazing to see positive progress! I want to continue contributing to that momentum in a larger capacity.

What have been some challenges you've faced as a Tmod?: Higher levels of multitasking. There will be times where I would be the only staff member online with a high-full server population a lot of this population would be guests, or troublesome individuals that require more attention. During this time there will be multitasking of say, evidence gathering for a ban request, making said ban request, handling rdm reports, giving verbals/mutes/gags/warns, while deescalating or keeping the rest of the server tame. I feel given the amount to do, I have done well, but there is always room for improvement and it is what I would say to be a challenge.

What have you done well as Tmod?: I think that evidence gathering for ban requests, as well as deescalating issues on the server are things that I feel I have done well with. I feel I have a strong understanding of the rules, navigating more complex rdm reports, and keeping the server fun and enjoyable while maintaining the rules.

Do you feel that you exemplify these qualities?: I feel like a good moderator has a strong understanding of the rules, and is able to uphold them in all instances. They have a calm level headed approach when dealing with situations. They are also a teacher and support system for newer/lower staff that may have questions or need help with situations. I feel mods are also people that should be approachable from members of the community if they have any concerns and do not wish to go to the admin team. They should also be fun and positive presences on the server! :) I feel like I do show these qualities. I understand the rules, I stay calm while doing things, I have helped staff that have had questions or have reached out for an opinion. I also hope people know they can always come to me if they need anything, I try to express that. And yeah, I am kinda fun and cool when online.

I'm active on the staff discord (and often in the #ttt channel on main) and constantly looking to improve the server. I promptly handle reports and submit ban requests with evidence for hacks/minge, etc. I try to be as thorough with my watchlist evidence as possible.

What do you plan to do as a TTT Admin? What is restricting you from accomplishing this as a Mod?:
Obviously I plan to continue to edit maps for the community (see my workshop items), but I would also potentially attempt to work on T/D weapon editing to fix some issues such as the detective playercam freezing often and hopefully making some other things more user friendly, such as redoing the tips system to be customizable clientside. This role would also make it easier for me to implement suggestions since I would likely be able to deploy stuff to the test server without having to go through someone else.

How can you help the community beyond TTT as an Admin?:
I believe that my perspectives could be beneficial in community decisions especially as someone who is somewhat new in the community. Evidence is important to me in pretty much every decision I need to make. I also have experience with this kind of thing, having run the community side of things in a couple of large discord servers over the years (sizes of 7.5k and 110k members)

What made you decide to apply?:
I’ve wanted to apply for a hot minute. Ryan has shown that the TTT admin team can work with 4 people so why not give it a go? Plus I would benefit from being able to test stuff immediately on the test server rather than waiting for Chibill to add things for me :3

What have been some challenges you've faced as a Tmod?: This question gets really hard because I don't really think of these things as challenges. Pretty much anything on-server can be solved by just putting a bit more time into the solution, y'know? Especially since I've done this for a very hot minute.

What have you done well as Tmod?: Voice of reason, simmering problems on server, taking on hefty loads by myself with pretty good efficiency, being generally well-liked. I even take my share of reports now, I'm doing good I promise.

What, in your mind, makes someone a good candidate for Mod? Do you feel that you exemplify these qualities? An understanding of the rules that transcends just reading off the motd to a point where people will come to you instead of it. A level of comradery not just with fellow staff, but players as well. A willingness to sometimes to honestly difficult jobs, finding hackers, dealing with harassment. There exists this weird thing in the community currently that didn't used to be there where the admin team is the end-all-be-all, go to them for any questions or any help or anything that's tough, but it used to be the mods in that group as well, honestly even moreso than the admin team at times. It's definitely a sign of a healthy admin team, but I think it hurts the nature of the mod role when the current precedent is "oh, we should consult the admins about this" when a few still active mods we have have more playtime than all of the admins combined, literally. I think I do exemplify these, as people won't stop bugging me to apply, people ask me a lot of questions and whatnot.

It depends on the time of year and I know you’re gonna get on my ass for it)I own my business so I have the unique capability of being able to hop on to handle issues at most times, so if there is an issue that needs to be handled (hacker, bans, etc), I can normally hop on in pretty quick notice to handle it.

What have been some challenges you've faced as a Tmod?:
Impostor syndrome is probably the biggest issue I work on. I know the rules well, and I know I know them well, but when you have regular users in your face upset about a slay or the implementation of the rules, it can definitely make me feel like I’ve handled a situation improperly. One of the things I’m learning, but still admittedly not the greatest at, is differentiating good players from the hackers. We’ve got some sweaty ass gamers on this server. Another thing I’m learning is differentiating a server having fun, versus instantaneously warnable behavior (slurs, racism, other no-no topics). I’ve definitely err’ed on the side of warning people in some of these edge situations and not everyone is a fan of that. It’s my point of view that I’d rather have a warn that I submitted successfully appealed than let hateful speech go unchecked.

What have you done well as Tmod?:
For the most part I think I handle ban requests, slays, and warnings extremely efficiently. Any of the punishments I deal out I have screenshot backing of, should an appeal or any other issue go through. I have a thorough understanding of the rules, and I ask (probably too many) questions on the back end to make sure things are being handled properly. I can handle a full server with the best of them, and I’m able to quickly and clearly wade through the bullshit if a group of rdm’ers/minges/etc get on.

I think a good candidate for mod is someone who is willing to sacrifice their life for Dinkleberg’s TTT | Fast Downloads! | Staff Needed. I am willing to be that sacrifice.

All jokes aside, in my own words, I think that a good candidate for mod is active on the server, unbiased in their handling of reports/behaviors, and strives to be friendly with everyone who gets on the server. I think I fulfill these requirements, as well as the more formal ones listed on the forums.

According to the official forum requirements:

Has an exceptional knowledge of the rules and guidelines of being a staff member, enough to thoroughly train intermediate staff members.

Other: One of the things I noted in my T-Mod app two months ago is that I expected to be T-Mod a while. If this application is rejected, then I will be. When I made that comment on my last application, I didn’t expect to break my ankle and then put an obscene amount of hours into this server over a month. During that time I learned a lot about this role, and grew a lot closer to some of you guys as well. The only other thing I can say is that I truly have this server’s success in mind, and want to do as much as I can to help it.

When First Joined: I think around August of last year, but I didn't have time to play much until early this year.

Availability (Approx. times you play, and time zone): Usually I get on around 11pm, staying on usually until around 3am, but sometimes I stay until around 5am. EST.

What can you do to help the community: Sometimes when I am on the server past 1 AM, the server is left entirely without staff. This is not every time, but often enough that I felt something should be done. Those hours are the guests dominion, where they are free to RDM, Slur, and Harass without fear. They need to be prosecuted under the full extent of the staff, but this prosecution is often left unsatisfied until the moderators log on in the morning. Basically my biggest problem is the late night guests, but I feel I know the rules well. Well enough to pass judgement on more standard RDM's as well.

Why you want to help the community:There are many regulars that are kind to me in this community. I have had positive interactions with pretty much every member of staff that I've played with and talked to for any period of time. It would cost me nothing to help out where the community needs.

What have been some challenges you've faced as a Trusted?: The confidence that my choice was the correct one, or that my original take on something is correct. If it is a more complex situation I will sometimes bounce my choice off someone else who is of a higher position instead of going with what I know to be correct based on guidelines. In the end what someone else would do or thinks tends to be the same.

What have you done well as Trusted?: I am solid at handling reports, even the more niche side cases. I think I have a very good understanding of the RDM Manager as well as the warn system, and the other staff resources used by Trusted. I usually have all the needed information when creating a ban request. And I think I do a good job at maintaining a fun and positive server when I am on.

What have been some challenges you've faced as a Trusted?: I've definitely had challenges with realizing which situations to de-escalate and which to not. For example, a few nights ago a troll duo joined and I thought we were having friendly banter with each other and out of no where they start grilling me and said some stuff that was not good. I think I've gotten better with these types of things but I can definitely mark that as a challenge I've faced as trusted.

What have you done well as Trusted?: I think I've done well with communicating with other staff members, asking questions on areas of the rules that I'm unsure of, communicating what to do and when in the in-game admin chat, and I think I've done well with communicating my opinions on stuff in a thoughtful way in the staff chat discord. Other than basic trusted stuff I think that's my biggest strength for sure, love staffing with the team <3.

What have been some challenges you've faced as a Trusted?:
The challenge I've faced that I'm still working on is keeping alert and knowing exactly what to do when the situation is chaotic, and there's multiple rule violations going on at the same time. When there's mic spam, and people feeding off the others negative energy, words can be thrown around that I completely miss and have had players use admin chat to report slurs or hateful language that I've had to go back through a recording or scroll up in the chat to see/hear.
A challenge I enjoy is handling the reports. When there is chaos in the report, digging through the logs to pick apart what actually happened in a situation is actually pretty fun. Utilizing previous death scenes of other players and moving around in them to go find out what led up to actual kill that led to a report is a challenge, but one I quite enjoy and I'm getting quickly better at.

What have you done well as Trusted?:
I ask a lot of questions of the people who have been staff longer than I have, and go over the actions staff has taken when I'm online and I figure out how I would have handled that situation in their shoes. I've handled some chaotic server situations, made ban requests, and recorded evidence and been able to report that to admins and moderators to enact a ban for situations such as hacking, harassment, and mass rdm.

I know I've only been trusted for exactly the one month mark, but I've learned a lot and continue to learn. If I'm promoted to T-Mod, I plan to stay at that role for quite some time to refine skills before an eventual Mod application- but I think I'd look to maintain my level of activity for the next few months and truly learn the role before I look to make an application for that role.

What have been some challenges you've faced as a Tmod?: There are a few. For one, establishing definitive targeting was always hard. Players will !p to explain they are being targeted and get upset when nothing has been done yet. This is usually when there is a demand for warn points or a ban without having enough evidence yet. Another challenge was quickly filling ban requests while there was so much going on. It's usually easier when other staff members are on, but when the team is spread thin, and there are nothing but guests, I find myself tabbing in and out of Discord and Garry's Mod, recording, screenshotting, and formatting requests, usually with in-game reports happening. The last challenge that comes to mind is having to reference the guidelines for niche violations. I don't like to administer warns on rare violations without being 100% certain I'm executing the punishment appropriately.

What have you done well as Tmod?: I'd say filling out ban requests has been something I've done well with. Collecting evidence for submission has gotten easier with each one that comes. The big thing I've noticed has been communicating with players. When there is an issue, I try to !p as much as possible and spectate their problems when it applies. The same comes to talking to players who are frustrated with an outcome I give. Sometimes it boils down to making one statement on a situation and leaving it at that. There have been moments when a player was frustrated at me because I handled a situation that wasn't in their favor, and I had to explain how things work.

What, in your mind, makes someone a good candidate for Mod? Do you feel that you exemplify these qualities?: I feel like it's simple: continue to do well with existing responsibilities and learn how to take on new ones. To me, the role of Mod is taking what you already know and being independent enough to take action where the role of T-Mod can't. This involves transitioning from ban requests to doing them oneself and reviewing other requests. With what I've handled before, I can confidently say I can manage the work of a Mod.
