For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the name, I am Prince Nicky. I've been a part of the Dinkleberg community for over 12 years now, and across that time, have server in a staff role on every server we have or once had - TTT, PH, DarkRP, and Murder - apart from Deathrun. It's been incredible watching this server become one of the longest-running and most successful communities in Garry's Mod, and knowing that even if I disappear for a few months or longer, I can always come back and hop onto my favorite TTT server. Lately, however, like many older communities, we've been seeing some quieter periods and stagnation, and I'd like to offer at least one humble thought on how to bring back some excitement and activity to the servers, particularly my longtime mainstay - TTT.
My suggestion is to launch weekly Giveaway Event Nights. These would be special, scheduled sessions (perhaps every Friday or Saturday evening) that are announced on the Discord server for visibility, and will feature normal TTT gameplay mixed with giveaways of genuinely rare and desirable items, such as custom vapes or lightsabers, extremely rare player models, unique guns, or other items. I think to make it even more compelling, we could introduce a couple of brand-new items to the server, but make them exclusive to these events. In other words, players could only obtain them by participating and winning during the nights, with no purchase option outside of these events or freebies given out or used by admins.
Players love chasing and acquiring exclusive online items, for whatever reason. Just take a look at knives in Counter Strike or the other micro-transaction content that is popular in the games popular with Gen-Zers. These nights could give players a strong reason to hop on those giveaway nights, and fall back in love with TTT such that they will keep hopping on regularly throughout the week as well, and keep the server lively and active.
That is my proposal, and I welcome any thoughts or feedback.
