Just gonna say that no, we probably won’t have another discord for another team. The current structure is that devs can access the 4-5 dev channels relevant to their game mode, as well as 6 of the “common” channels (chatter, shitposting, etc.). That and I would hate it if we have another prop hunt server situation.

Also, is your application to create a new role? If so, where would that role sit in the staff/non-staff hierarchy?

I'm sorry but I'm gonna -1.

You're a good dude, probably smarter than a lot of people and have experience here as an admin of PH, but didn't you just come back from a hiatus like a week ago? I'm sure you have good intentions and are probably overqualified for the position, but I think coming back from such a long break and coming back asking for not only a dev rank, but the leading dev rank (that doesn't exist and probably would require a bit of a restructure to the dev position) is a little silly. I think that if you do get accepted, you should work from within the rank of dev to make the lead dev role a thing and for you to be appointed to it as opposed to asking for it outright considering this, but at the current moment I can't +1 considering that you haven't been in the community in a while.

You seem like an amazing person and have a lot of technical knowledge. Everybody does goofs and oopsies in the past but now is the present. You are super involved in the community and have a good head on your shoulders.

I am going to +0 this for now.

It would be amazing to see you put in a developer application and see what you can do but in general creating this role might introduce power dynamic disruptions. Though, given some tweaking there could be a way to make it work down the road.

Reminder to viewers of this reminder that the criteria, though not explicitly stated, still relies on certain social aspects of a person, as those aspects directly correlate with trust in the community. And if we're being overly technical, the desired rank is one that doesn't exist, so criteria is at an even higher threshold, yet a mystery that alludes us all.

I've been even deader than Dink himself so I won't vote, but I will vouch for Milk's technical competence as the developer of the discord relay bot.
I know nothing else of recent character developments. I can vouch for his character from when he was admin, before various controversies came about.

Actually after some thought I am going to swap to a +1. From what I got to hear and the small chat and you demonstrating a lot of technical knowledge: I think this would heavily benefit the server. Also if there was a role for someone to provide leadership for development decisions, your activity and dedication alone sets you as someone who would for this role well.

Haven't really seen too much of milks work, but it seems a lot of the community has good things to say, whether its the person or their abilities with tech.

But the main dividing point seems to be about you coming back from a hiatus and asking for a spot.
If its not a staff spot and you are currently already doing the work, I feel like its easier to just keep assisting the staffing and discord team, and maybe once you are around for long enough again, maybe you culd be given a staff role, if that is the main desire.

So, I will give a -1. But I think in the future, once staff finds a way to actually set a role for something along the lines of what you are looking for, and if you are still around continuing your work, you definitely deserve a role like lead developer.

Just keep doing what you are doing and give it a little bit more time. You already are more reputable than most and don't have much competition.

As this thread is a bit unconventional the response is unconventional. The admin team has decided to accept this application as for the existing PH Dev role.

Currently, the admin team is not looking for a lead dev role as that position is filled generally by the admin team. The other ideas presented are something we will keep in mind as we work to continue to develop the dev team.
