frost permaban appeal

Ingame Name: frost

SteamID: STEAM_1:0:484982973

Who Banned You: Virunas

Reason For Ban: Mass RDM

Length of Ban: Permanent

Reason for Admins to Unban:
After less than a week of thinking it over and giving myself a break from TTT, I decided today was best for me to create this ban appeal that way it isn't created with the emotions I carried the days following the ban. I was in the wrong for massing and I do apologize to anyone who was affected by my lack of judgment. I have read over the rules multiple times while I have been banned and believe a permanent ban on a player who has never been banned for mass before is above what should have been handed to me. Although it was intentional, I had no malicious intent with my actions.

For context, I was on eclipse and killed 5 innocents and 1 traitor in overtime as I grew tired of the constant delay that occurs more often than not. I would like to also point out that the last traitor was by definition "delaying" as they had only gotten 1 kill within 6 minutes due to a c4 which was placed for 2 minutes. As I started to kill people, the traitor while near me decided to run away and hide in a compartment as they "were scared I was going to rdm them". In order for me to find them, I had to buy a radar or else they would've stayed in the same area until the round ended. Not only were they intentional delaying by not killing any innocents after their c4 went off, but they also refused to play their given role properly with the excuse of "drinking/wanting to get drunk."

I would also like to clear up a comment I saw a couple days after my ban. "did frost even try to contact staff?" In my eyes, I shouldn't need to contact anyone in this situation. As a regular player, I don't think staff would want me telling them to do their job as they were as staff are chosen to reinforce rules. Even if I were to contact staff, there has been a severe lack of players being punished for delaying. If players aren't being punished for a rule set for all players, more players will start to do it which has been happening more on the server. Although a ban was justified because of my actions, I don't believe a ban on par with cheaters is justifiable.

Have you been banned before:
3 times, 2 karma bans (through crowbar battling pancakes), 1 from last year.

As one of the staff members involved in your ban, +1.

You're a fun regular to play with and it would be nice to see you able to play sometime in the future, also I made the server give you a salute after you got banned.

+1, for a few reasons.

1. Most of the time the first time someone masses and gets perma'd, we usually will just unban and say "hey don't do that again."
2. The delaying/not delaying in question is hotly debated. Obviously people that are currently alive can't see active logs to know if the person is delaying, idk, it's all complicated.
3. Everyone likes frost like bruh

To the TTT Admin Team,

I am writing on behalf of my client, Frost, regarding the permanent ban issued for mass RDM. While the rule infraction is not in dispute, I respectfully request that the context and intent behind his actions be given fair consideration in evaluating the proportionality of the punishment.

At the time of the incident, a trial moderator—someone who holds a position of responsibility and is expected to model proper gameplay—was actively delaying the round. This behavior, especially from someone in a staff position, negatively impacted the experience of all players on the server. Prolonged rounds due to intentional delaying disrupt the flow of the game and frustrate the player base, as many are simply trying to enjoy a fair and active TTT session.

Frost’s decision to eliminate the remaining players was not made with malicious intent, but rather out of an impulsive attempt to reset the game and restore fun and momentum for everyone involved. He acknowledges this action broke the rules, but it was done in protest of the delay and in an effort to improve the experience for others—not to grief or ruin the server.

We also ask that the staff team reflect on the conduct of the trial moderator in question. If a player—especially one in a staff role—is abusing the game mechanics to delay and provoke frustration, this should be addressed with equal seriousness.

Frost is not a habitual rulebreaker. A permanent ban in this case feels excessive given the situation and his overall history. We respectfully request that the ban be reduced to a time-served suspension or temporary ban, along with a warning placed on record if necessary.

Thank you for your time and for considering a fair and balanced review of this situation.

Respectfully,
Fanta

Although I dont agree with massing a bunch of people because someone is delaying I do understand the frustration, reason why I think delaying should be punished more if its ruining others players time but I digress. You seem pretty chill usually from what I gathered on the discord so I imagine this most likely wouldnt be a major occurrence so 1+ on the unban.

In my time playing on the server, I have always enjoyed playing with frost. Other than this frost has had no behaviorally issues or anything of that nature. Bring back our 8 am Garry's Mod sessions where we talk about deep shit <3

frost rarely rdms, letting this incident keep a popular player off of the server would be a mistake
+1 unban

+1 mass rdm bans are nothing burgers and frost is well liked/causes far more good than harm

As one of the 6 specimens that was RDM'd, (I didn't report, do NOT cancel me), I say +1. I enjoy playing with frost on Dinklebergs TTT, because they are usually chill and friendly. I don't think there is any reason to believe this will happen again, and I hope with your return the schism in the community will be undone and everything will go back to the drama free TTT server we know and love. Hope to see your return soon!
