what could possibly be different this time versus the countless other times you’ve applied for staff? 

I'm going into potentially getting staff with a different mindset. Across all of my accepted trusted apps, my mindset was different enough that you could tell it was a significant difference every time I applied and got accepted for trusted. This time is just different than the last, I feel a lot better about the community and I feel like the best thing for me to do at the moment is to give me time to the server and help out. Plus, I won't resign if accepted because (even though I disagree) the community has said that an inactive staff member is better than a resigned one.

What is something that you could say that might make those who feel that way believe and trust that you won't just cave once something happens?

How would you approach a situation that made you "cave" in the past differently if it were to arise again?

If my reply to this first part comes across as anything other than airing out my opinion then I'm sorry, I might be using the incorrect wording/phrasing and if it comes across as a snarky comment please keep in mind that I am not trying to make a snarky comment. I don't really think there's anything I can say at this point to make the majority of people who don't trust me to staff trust me, people are gonna hold biases and grudges against me and that's their right considering the history I have. I can make a whole bunch of promises that I'll keep and I'll still have people saying that I'm not doing enough to prove that I can be trusted. I will say, that if I am promoted to trusted that I will let my actions speak for myself and that I will do my potential trusted duties to the best of my ability, and I feel like that's about all I can say about it at this point.

I think just walking away from situations is probably the best approach, the last time I resigned I tried to be involved in all of the April stuff and tried to fight for what was right in my eyes, but I did get myself too involved especially after learning that one of my best friends was a garbage human being. I think having a different mindset about that will make things much easier.

Realistically bro, you’ve said you wouldn’t resign the past 10 staff apps. The majority of the server would not take you seriously in any kind of leadership position. You have also said you wouldn’t apply for staff multiple times after resignations. I think the majority of +1’s here (besides your friend) are from people that are unaware of past conflicts or are newer players. The server is in a good spot right now and making you staff is a step backwards. You are 99% of the time going to be a negative presence when dealing with issues as you have shown multiple times in the past. 

“I think just walking away from situations is the best approach.” aka “as soon as things get hard I’m going to shut down and leave.” You say you “fight for what is right in your eyes” but ignore any evidence or facts shown to you if you consider that person your friend. Every time you have a staff app up, you try to act a little more proper, be a little more active, and seem a little friendlier. As soon as it’s denied or closed, a switch flips until the next staff app and the cycle repeats. I think you can be funny and I don’t have any personal issues with you, but you should not be in a position of power. If you had “grown”, we would have seen it by staff app 11. 

Damien, I promise you that the best thing for you to do at the moment is not be staff for the 18th time on garrys mod. Just have fun being a player and give yourself a couple of months to reflect on criticism. None of these -1’s are personal attack, it’s really not that serious. I’m pretty sure almost every person here has +1’d one of your apps at one point or another.
