Before I get to the application I just want to thank the staff and members for taking the time to read and consider this (regardless of outcome), and I also want to apologize for this being a bit of a yapfest.

What made you decide to apply?
I originally joined this community at the very end of December in 2022 and played for about 2 months before unceremoniously leaving due to some life circumstance to took my time. Back then I felt very welcomed by the TTT community and my biggest regret as far as my presence here is that I never became involved with the wider community and discord. Now that I'm back I decided to get involved in the discord and the ways that I have been treated and people have welcomed me into the group have been really incredible. I'm usually very loyal to the communities I join, and this kind of reception really makes me want to put in any effort I can to help keep this place great and give people more reasons to hang out in the discord (and the community at large by extension).
What do you plan to do to help the Discord community?
Having talked pretty extensively with Damien (who for some reason I can't mention here) about potential events I feel that there are a lot of opportunities to run some cool stuff. Recently myself and few others have been working to get a League of Legend's group together and it has been very successful. I won't harp on this too much, but League is a great event that can be run in the community for a few reasons. It's free, easy to run on most PC's, and the custom match feature allows for a lot of room for in-house matches and tournaments. Another event that I have tried to get going on the small scale was a Gmod variety game night, and thankfully that had really good turnout despite it relying totally on word of mouth to get started. Those are specifics but I have a lot of ideas for other events, like movie nights, and I am really excited about the idea of working with other event coordinators and mod staff to get some really cool stuff going for the community to do.
Anything else to add?
Once again I want to apologize for the yapfest that this application may seem like, I have a lot to say and I feel like this is one of the best platforms I have to say it. I cut a lot out because I felt it wasn't necessary to have a whole manifesto about the potential I see in the community or every conceivable event I'm interested in looking into doing. I was a little shocked that this application didn't have a question regards past discord moderation or event coordinating experience but I think that stuff is important and I'm going to put some of my experience here. It's not comprehensive, really just two servers I'm very proud of.
Since 2023 I have been a co-owner/founder of a community called Ascension that's primarily focused on War Thunder, but we have an active Elite Dangerous community as well. This is a server with 350 members and I'm proud to say that it is one of the coolest things I've gotten to be apart of. Over the last year and a half we have consistently been in the top 100 of squadrons in War Thunder's competitive squadron battles league. While myself and the other owner founded the community, the biggest take away for me has been how much I enjoy fostering a community and running events. I'm fortunate to have incredible community management so I have been able to step back and let them run things while I help with maintenance and focus on handling the things the staff needs from me rather than running the day to day.

The other server I want to hit on is the r/NonCredibleDefense Officially Unofficial Discord (yeah I know). I am currently one of three community managers for this server, however it's important to note that in this server that is the owner role. I came into the position after having been the psuedo-head admin for a little over a year. This is a very large, community discoverable (although we've been having issues with the feature) server that focuses on defense and politics with a heavy dose of hanging out and messing around. This is where I have really gotten my experience running large events like movie nights, poker nights, election and debate streams, and various variety gaming events. Myself along with two other community managers manage a staff team of 14 people with a member base of nearly 3000 people.

I don't mention these to brag or grandstand, just to demonstrate that I do have experience with this sort of thing. I recognize that I'm pretty new here so I understand if that presents an issue. I appreciate the consideration, and regardless of the outcome I look forward to being a part of this community and helping with events in any way I can.
