This is a Discord admin app now, refer to latest post
Precursor to this, since obviously Ryan was just transitioned into this position. This comes after a lot of conversation between Ryan, Les, Virunas, and I. Having multiple web admins hasn't happened before, but the newer nature of the admin team is more of a meshed collaborative effort on many things that effect all portions of the community, so we think that having multiple web admins would be a net positive. He only did it because he wanted to steal my idea anyway smh...

What do you plan to do as a Web Admin?: There's a bunch I want to focus on, primarily I want more of a focus on consistent usage of the forums. Discord is convenient for a lot of things, and where we all go to be sociable, but I think the type of communication the forums provide, especially given the layout of our forums vs forums of old, is very valuable and is underutilized. I think the more things we move to the discord, the worse the problem becomes. Staff used to put ban requests on the forums, but have started doing it in the staff discord only. This is great in some ways as communication is quicker, but we're likely missing out on available context that community members would provide if they knew a request existed. I think it probably also hurts the amount of ban requests that happen in general, since people posting them constantly even if they're staff isn't as prevalent, the reminder to also do it isn't there. This might also cause players to record less, and even hurt the amount of people getting into staffing as they're not getting those initial bits of it that they get from posting things and seeing how they're dealt with upfront. Lots of speculation, but still. I think my biggest potential issue is my lack of backend experience, which I'd be essentially learning on the job from Ryan and Kap, I believe. There are some areas I'd like to explore for the forums being more connected to other places, but I'm not sure how that would work yet.
How can you help the community beyond Forums as an Admin?: I like to think I'm a very community-oriented person, and we don't specifically have someone in the upper staff focusing on that currently in a way that could entice more people to join the community. Being admin is in no way a direct requirement for this, but I think it would be helpful in setting things up and being able to increase the amount of people I can reach with attempts at community-oriented events. I also like to think I have a pretty level head most of the time, and am decent with articulating my thoughts and considering things from many angles, so a lot of the deeper issues the admin team deals with, I'd be able to keep up with and contribute equally as the rest of the team, I believe.
What made you decide to apply?: It's no secret that I've wanted to become admin somewhere for a long time. At one point I was somewhere between first and third choice for TTT admin before I went through my rebellious phase, and likely could have gotten it if I'd stuck around a few more months. I've always been good at being very objective, even in extremely nuanced situations, and am able to have those tough talks and be exposed to uncomfortable situations if needed. I don't know how bad it has been recently, but I know admin teams have had to see some absolutely deplorable things in the past. I think those things coupled together is a pretty large part of why I decided to. That and being more or less without a web admin for a prolonged period of time.
Anything else you would like to add?: A few things. This is, by the exact wording of the requirements for an admin app for the forums, premature (kind of). It says six months of time, but also says four months at another spot. I was told to just mention this and that it's fine due to the extended nature of admin applications, and our lack of a tenured web admin. We also have never had more than one web admin at a time before, but I think that can change. I think having one person who is very community-oriented with another that is very backend oriented that work off of each other, which Ryan, Virunas and I have all been able to do very well together, would be more beneficial. Also being admin while being staff everywhere else (except PH) would be helpful, especially with how small the discord staff team currently is.
I also think it would be extremely funny, given my tendency to butt heads with a past web admin a lot.
