The TTT Admin Team has decided to accept this appeal. A major factor that contributed to this decision was the length of ban served. Obviously the strength of the flaming warn discussed in this thread had an impact on this decision, but there was a lot of discussion on both sides of what the appropriate response would be before that specific issue was highlighted.

Everyone knows this is a contentious unban. I don't think anyone can expect full agreement, especially for those with past negative personal experiences, but hopefully you all can see that there are reasonable takes/people on both sides of this one.

To the people disappointed with this decision. Fair enough, no one likes a bully. And Caribou has acted like one on multiple occasions. But this is how a community works, people mess up they get put in time out/jail/exile, and then they get to come back (unless they have done something so bad they never get to come back). The question isn't whether Caribou did anything wrong, there was a lot he did wrong, just what the appropriate punishment would be. Nine months is a long enough amount of time to change, hopefully he has. And if he hasn't I think everyone (including caribou) at this point recognize that there shouldn't be any slack. Like with anything else if an issue arises go to staff on server, and if nothing comes of that, always feel free to come to your admin of choice. If Caribou chooses to engage in harassment again, I am sorry for our mistake in this unban you were right.

To Caribou, I hope that in coming back you make the server more fun to be on for more than just your friends. A big part of gmod is obviously friends hopping on to play together, but having somewhere to play means taking care of the community you want to play in. For very valid reasons there will be a lot of people watching you very closely on the server. If we are again in a situation where jabs are being made, but its all a close call as to whether a rule was violated. You will not get benefit of the doubt. If you feel you are being goaded, set up, provoked, attacked etc. Message a member of the staff team online or the admin team. Self-defense at this point is not a defense. If harassment arises again as an issue the next step at this point is a Community Ban. Despite all that I do hope you get to enjoy playing on the server with your friends, and I think that at your best you can make the server fun for more than just your circle.
