Though instead of pausing the app you could just reapply in a month(or however long it is) til you have that activity sorted.

if I'm made to reapply I'll have to redo the app in a month and that isn't helping anyone really, I'd be answering the questionnaire the exact same, writing the exact same things on my application with different words. I feel like it's just unproductive to make me reapply if it's the only thing keeping me from getting accepted here.

Agreed, nothing would really change. It would just be a waste of time to do the questions over again and entering the same responses
