Firstly, I'm gonna be completely honest with you. This entire thread is a bad look. I understand that you have an opinion regarding certain viewpoints within the community, but at some point you gotta understand that people have different viewpoints. In the end, their viewpoints are not gonna change just like yours are not, and that is okay.
The word "coons" has historically been used as a slur, and even though you and I have primarily known it by a shortened version of racoons, that does not change the fact that is it does have historical usage as a slur. To a lot of people, some people have only heard it used as a slur and even though their experiences differ from yours, it doesn't make their perspective incorrect/invalid.
The same applies to the "I am racist towards white/black people" argument. For whatever reason that person may have, everyone is going to have their own views regarding how certain racial comments are going to be handled. A lot of people may disagree with your views (just as I disagree with a lot of other people's views), and just like you aren't gonna change your opinion, they aren't gonna change theirs.
At some point, its really not worth continuing the argument. You may disagree, but editing photos to make a point really isn't gonna get you the kind of attention you want. Staff the way you want to staff (within the confines of the guidelines of course), but also understand that people are not always going to see eye to eye with you. If you believe a certain comment is racist even when others don't, then warn it. In the end, it'll either be appealed or not. I don't think you should let others dictate how you staff (except for like admins and whatnot), but at the same time you need to understand that not everyone is gonna agree with how things are enforced, be they staff or not. Be respectful of others beliefs, and understand when to let the argument go. Be the captain of your own ship, and let others be the captain of theirs.
Just don't do... whatever this thread is.
You all might disagree with me on this point simply for the sake of disagreeing, but there is no argument to allow people to say they hate white people, which is why no one is willing to address it. The rules are very clearly defined as no racism. Saying you hate white people, with the inclusion of the word "white" is inherently racist by definition.
It is fully within your right to decide that you don't wish to hold your values and principles so much that you are willing to stay quiet and not talk about it, but that isn't what I do. Telling me to respect the belief that "white people bad" is not a take I'm going to sit by and let happen. Do whatever you want to do, so will I.
Also, if this post was made by a friend of yours and was funny (from your guys' perspective), you would have no issue with the images being edited. Because they're funny, right?!?
The fact that you have an issue with me editing these images doesn't come from the fact that you only don't want someone "random" to edit images of you, it comes from a place of "I don't agree with the sentiment that is being portrayed of me." I changed ONE singular word, and you guys don't like how it makes you look.
Grow up and come to terms with the fact that you are racist against white people. (Not you Rox5tar01, but everyone else who is upset about their pictures being edited.)
I don't disagree with you, but I all so don't think you conveyed the message or point very well and instead did so in a distasteful manor. Telling people to grow up after you did not explain thing is not the best way to get people on your side either, outside of the few people directly involved most of use were made aware of anything had to do with your post. We are not mine readers.
I haven't conveyed the message very well? What about the people saying they hate white people? Are they conveying the message well and not in a distasteful manner? (You will not address this point, shockingly.)
There is nothing wrong with me changing one word in a sentence to convey how it is disgustingly hypocritical that you can say one but detest the other. Where am I asking you to read my mind? I am giving clear and concise reasoning as to how both sentences are racist and there are still people disagreeing. This isn't a opiniated discussion, this is fact vs. fiction. If you include the word "white" in your hatred for "white people", it's racist.
End of story.
