The Nyan Cat Gun is so much fun and I think the detectives should be able to buy it. Once I get a ton of credits as detective I end up just buying sentries. I would like something fun to use that is basically useless because of how little damage it does. The Nyan Cat Gun would be perfect and it's really enjoyable to use.
