Caused lag and on some maps, like rooftops - the spawn locations wouldn't always work - people would fall through the map. Additionally, people in spec DM could disrupt normal turret shooting mechanisms and could prevent people from being revived. I enjoyed spec DM quite a bit, but it certainly had its problems
