Ban someone because SOMEONE ELSE said he has a big bad hack that lags the server? Absolutely not. Lag hacks exist, and they work exactly like this, but they're basically impossible to nail down to one person unless they just straight up admit to doing it.

On a side note, this isn't really DDoS, NFO would mitigate all but the biggest attacks with relative ease automatically. Lag hacks are a lot easier to get a hold of than botnets.

Server would go down if it was a DDoS attack, and unless you are Juan or Dink, there is no way you can prove anybody was behind either attack. This thread can be locked now.

In any case, like Russ said, this looks less like a DDoS or DoS attack and more like a lag attack using exploits to mess with the server. Basically impossible to pin on someone unless you catch it through !ss on the relay.
