So that we can find each other easier and interact with each other more often; additionally, unlike the matchmaking passwords in previous souls games, group passwords dont lock you out of the regular pool of online players, they just make your group members' summon signs appear more often and stand out from the others, with a more pronounced glow on top of a ring around the sign.
