Price Inflation among the Black
#1
As you all know, prices in the black series have shot up almost $8 retail price. They went from $19.99 to $27.99 in what feels like overnight, and some figures that usually fetch $4-$7 like Rose, Jyn Erso, Admiral Ackbar and for fuck sake Zorii Bliss now go for full price. Even worse, on non retail sites, such as Ebay and Mercari, many figures especially in the TVC line (Not even six inch) are in a price bubble, such as Starkiller from the force unleashed, has recently sold for $274.98 unpunched mint on card, but it's not even graded. They can shit in a box and say its got a grade of 85+ for all we know. Another good example is Jabba's Sail Barge sold awhile back for $3,600 with $80 shipping. Don't believe me look at this (https://www.ebay.com/itm/234046967544?ep...SwMP1gwdy3). Keep in mind that TVC retails at less than $15 for individual characters, and $500 for the sail barge when it came out.

What is a price bubble? Investopedia lists it as "A bubble is an economic cycle that is characterized by the rapid escalation of market value, particularly in the price of assets. This fast inflation is followed by a quick decrease in value, or a contraction, that is sometimes referred to as a "crash" or a "bubble burst.". This means we can expect the prices to crash in the next few years. This may seem like good news, as it will mean lower prices for those entering the hobby, but it will also mean that seasoned collectors will lose their investment.

The rising prices in the Hasbro's six inch line, The Black Series, may have a direct correlation with real life inflation, but they are not adjusting for the increased prices in quality, only quantity. This has shown with a couple recent figures. One that recently came out: Clone Commando Boss which looks nothing like him in the Republic Commando game, and also looks nothing like the Republic Commandos in the new Bad Batch animated series. (Picture:https://www.google.com/search?q=black+series+boss&client=firefox-b-1-d&channel=tus5&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjrjvrzjJT3AhXfQzABHb08A74Q_AUoAXoECAIQAw&biw=1600&bih=775&dpr=1#imgrc=T1pMuRVBXTFKkM). The same can be said for the upcoming figure Black Krrsantan. This one really has my balls in a vice grip to say the least. They announced this figure at the height of the Book of Boba Fett hype, when the Doctor Aphra comic book character, Black Krrsantan was introduced as Boba Fett's adversary. This is what he was supposed to look like: (https://www.google.com/search?q=black+kr...u-XmJ2_ZTM) and this is what his upcoming action figure looks like: (https://www.google.com/search?q=black+kr...qeeU7QtKrM). You can clearly see the issue in these pictures. He looks much more like he does in just a few comic issues which portray him as skinny, instead of his more relevant comic issues, or as anticipated, BoBF. They obviously just reused the chewbacca mold, and painted him black even though they have very different body types and features. Seriously hasbro, what in the Babu Frik is this hickory shit. Dinklebergs staff, I, Lard Lord, beg you to step in and take action, as I know in this shithole economy, you wear the pants in America's family.
