Regarding Staff Applications
#1
While looking over several recent applications I noticed several players making a comment believing that their vote may not matter because they themselves are not staff. Please feel free to give feedback about the applicant and your personal vote on if the application should or should not become staff. We as staff look at how the applicant interacts with the community. Your feedback is  appreciated on the application and valued. We take what you say into consideration during the selection process.

A few things to note pertaining to Staff Applications:

Please do not post off topic things inside the staff applicants application. We have created a section for you to post your miscellaneous things. Located here: https://www.dinklebergsgmod.com/site/Forum-Shitposting

Please refrain from having a conversation on an application, take it to DM's.

Remember to keep comments made on applications about the applicant, this isn't a time to point out other peoples discrepancies or faults. This isn't a time to compare them to other staff or members of the community. Be courteous to each other and respectful of everyone's opinion.

Before applying, be sure you meet the minimum requirements and use the correct format.

I'd like to add on to this by saying that if you would not like to post on a staff application for fear of backlash, you can always message a staff member, preferably an admin, and your opinion will still be taken into consideration.

Another note: admins read the pages but also your score given. +1 and -1 show your stance on the application in conjunction with the text following. Provide with your stance some reasoning as to why you feel this way for the admins to consider. Big note: if you put +0 you are stating you want your text to have no sway (for better or worse) on the decision. I’ve seen a lot of +0 lately, and many times with a lot of text behind them. Admins still read the text, and likely will still partially use it to make a decision, but the +0 tells us you don’t feel strongly which way the application goes and are not throwing support either way. On the note Laced made, if you have a reason for or against a player but for some reason don’t feel it ok to post, pm an admin.
Though also look into why you don’t feel it ok to post. Don’t want to just rag on someone all over the forums, sure. Feelings exist if you have some reasons a friend shouldn’t be staff. But remember that you should back your word and most times can find a way to put it without coming of rude or hurting feelings. If you feel staff or a group will cause some personal backlash over support or lack of it, also pm your admin because that backlash or alienation is not healthy for the community. Staff should not pressure your opinion.
Examples:
+1 big gamer - shows you like the player and support them, but the text is useless. It gives no reasoning, and an admin will not add it to their own consideration for the vote.
-1 likes dog dick - no. Do not just shitpost a vote, it may be deleted but also may stay bc and admin is going to remember what you said and your attitude in a ‘serious’ thread.
+0 meets minimum requirements to staff, is active on discord, good sense of humor and community, but constantly abuses unstuck.- this is a fair +0 as you give a pos and neg without weighing them. The admin will consider both aspects, but may not weigh it heavily.
+0 I LOVE this player, active on forums and discord, is a donor that hops on to help micspam at night, here’s a picture of their gametracker - WHY did you put a +0, it undermined an otherwise positive support. The admin wonders at the +0 and what the negative reason could be, taking the post less seriously. Would make a great short +1
-1 micspamer - simple, clean -1 that’s gets to the point. Rule breaking is a sure way to debunk an application. Consider provinding examples for weight
+1 active in community and knows the rules - short effective +1. Admin will likely know this already but the support is shown and confirms the admins own knowledge/opinion, weighing positively. Good for a trusted application.
The higher the position the more you should consider posting for the player. Admins watch staff and form their own opinions on if they should be promoted, but specific examples for or against the application tremendously help the process.
