Kinda being a little more active here lately, and seeing drama shit is soooo surprising (not). Just play on the servers, sit back and chill, and follow rules. Not sure why this is even sensible topic. If a discussion has to be made about it, it's probably not a good thing to say.

If this wasn't a community based game I would mostly agree, but it is and we have to have discussions like these so that the comfortability of the players in our community isn't ruined.

Yes, but this is just a dumb thread. White, black, asian, etc., what's the difference? Replace "white" with any other race and reread your thread. Not sure why this is even a discussion. discriminatory speech is discriminatory speech.

I disagree, I think based on the current power dynamics in the usa that replacing "white" with any other race isn't the same. Saying "I hate Mexican People" vs saying "I hate White People is very different to me, but I know people disagree.

Guys, be real with yourselves. It's very clear that if you asked Damien straight-up, he would want to kill all white people. He is not trying to be edgy or joke around. He made an entire thread to specify that it's okay to hate white people. Damien does not want you to be white. He isn't even white himself. He's "mixed" as he calls it. He wants white people to die. the reason why racial slurs are bad is that they carry behind them the weight of all the various kinds of violence that have been perpetrated in the interest of upholding white supremacy. you can call cracker a racial slur if you want but it broadens the meaning so much as to make it completely useless.

for a brief history lesson to help build some context around the word "cracker" being used to refer to white people in america specifically- the term comes from the sounds the whips made when cracked against the skin of enslaved individuals, the slave masters were referred to by many slang terms and "cracker" is one of those terms, again because of the sounds the whips made when used against enslaved individuals. personally, i dont consider it to be derogatory as they were used to refer to people in the position of power and not as a way of dehumanizing an entire group of people solely based off of their skin tone and appearance.

If I was told to stop saying "I HATE GAY PEOPLE" by Damien, I would simply stop doing it because I respect him as a person and his sexuality. I wouldn't harass him and post a picture saying "KILL ALL GAY PEOPLE".
