I know when playing with you, things can get... heated. You are a bit of an intense fellow, but I can't speak for some of the other allegations in the thread as I haven't been there to experience them. However, it seems the appeal is for RDM and leave so that should be the only thing at play here.

RDM and leave is a tricky one for me. It's completely possible to RDM and not realize it, and then leave before the report goes in and boom you are warned even though you didn't know it was an RDM. You can get warned for an action you didn't even realize occurred. Really just comes down to whether or not your RDM report happened before or after you DC'd.

If you left before you were reported, then I'll +1 an unban. Mistakes happen, and for me this is an easily forgivable issue in this instance.

If you left AFTER you were reported, then I'll -1 an unban. The rules clearly define an RDM and leave as "RDMing and leaving before you can be reported, while there is a report against you, or before serving any remaining slays." While I think that leaving before you can be reported should normally be forgiven in most appeal cases (unless it's blatant intentional RDM), the rule very clearly outlines an RDM and leave. There's no "moving target" about that.

I would like either you or BG to clarify which of the two it is.

Based on how awarn bans are typically handled, I would not support an unban here. I’m not the biggest fan of RDM + Leave being a rule since all slays carry over between sessions, but that is also not my call to make. It is against the rules, you knew it was against the rules, and you thought you knew a loophole.

Reminder that it's a warn threshold ban, not just RDM + leave. 4 weeks means 28 points, RDM and leave is 2 points a piece every time, plus sometimes bans up to week on top of that. Warn threshold bans are definitely more about general behavior. I don't think he racked up 14 RDM and leave bans, plus the 12 weeks and one day of bans that would come with that (as they would start expiring by then)

Replaying at 6 AM for a Garry's Mod forum is wild.

Ryan, you are now questioning my character and painting a false narrative. I explained to you privately that another admin had set a precedent by not warning for the exact same scenario. I genuinely feel I was within the bounds of the rules given past experience. This thread has strayed from the reality of the situation, and I think some self-reflection is needed to realize that this is a 10-year-old dying community taken a bit too seriously. I would like this thread closed; I will serve the ban.
