I've never really understood why people point fingers at the grapple and bhop exploit so much. both are just byproducts of playing on an old ass engine. Part of the jankyness of the game is what keeps so many players coming back. If ttt was a perfectly functional game then what reason would players have to play gmod over playing ttt on a dedicated csgo server, or any other game with dedicated custom servers? People also seem to crack down on bhopping mainly for making the person a difficult target to hit, but what about crouch/ jump spamming? I hardly ever see regular players complaining about jump and crouch spamming players. I'm guessing mainly cause spamming is more subtle than flying around the map. But if we really cared so much about keeping the game exploit free, then casino would be off the playlist, fastfood, and dimmesdale would have to go, we'd actually have to throw away the whole server every time Loganator's head clips through a ceiling. Making a competitively exploit-free dinklebergs would mean a lot more than some people realize. The only way to effectively get rid of most exploits would be to make the game feel like regular CS:Source, slower movement speed, faster fall speed, slower guns, no jump pack, no grapple hook, no shield gun, no newton launcher. It would be a pretty bland game. Historically, video games with too much nerfing end up being boring, the games with a little bit of unbalance end up being the most fun (see: modern warfare 2, black ops 2.) Players want to have fun, and the most advantageous part of playing a game that you can mod yourself, is that you have the power to keep the game fun and interesting. There's lots of players out there like me who would much rather see the more skilled players like Laced and Crab whoop my ass, than feel like im being given a level playing field that I didn't earn. I spent years playing Overwatch, which is known for having a very high skill-ceiling, I sucked ass at the game but believed if I tried hard enough I could become a pro Lucio or Zarya (those dreams didn't quite come into fruition) but one important thing to notice is that Overwatch still has a HUGE casual community. Having different level of skilled players, will not ruin the games for those who aren't as good, it just makes the game more diverse and gives players a belief that there is more possibilities in how to play the game. I think it's useless for the most part trying to fight the source engine, at the VERY most, you could turn down the maximum movement speed allowed I guess.

The reason people are complaining is because, on their end, "fun" does not involve being on the ass-end of unfair exploitation of cracks in the game engine.

ESPECIALLY when they cannot abuse the engine themselves.

Do you find it "fun" to hack as well, because that is just exploiting the engine, after all.

Or maybe if I were to RDM you round after round, then you would have  "fun" because I am merely exploiting the rules of the game.

Or maybe, if I were to be impossible to kill, and then killed you doing so, because I can hit you but you can't hit me, then you would finally start having  "fun" , because that seems to be what you are getting at.

Also, congrats on on making a statement so blindly oblivious, I felt the need to dredge up a six month old unban request for that  funny shit.
