I want to start out my appeal by talking about my state of mind and my perspective of what happened and has happened since my forums account was deleted. Please bear with me, and feel free to skip further down if you want. I want to also clarify that I am not saying these things for any sort of pity whatsoever, as I’ve previously been accused of doing in appeals. I think it’s important to understand what I was thinking and feeling when I made the decisions I did, and I will explain why.
I really didn’t want to appeal this ban at all, honestly. I asked Gabe to completely purge my account and all of my threads and posts last year before he resigned as the forum admin in an effort to get away from what happened. (Thank u sm Gabe i love u) I’m still not even certain about appealing it because the thought of it makes me want to throw up. I spent several months last year waking up with my heart racing and anxiously checking my phone. I’d spend all day just glued to my phone, constantly checking Discord servers and refreshing chats and the forums in an effort to be 100% aware of everything that was happening at all times. It fucking sucked. It was taking me away from my irl relationships and events, and it was so fucking detrimental to my health. After a certain point, I started suffering from flashbacks due to the nature of discussions being had both in private and on the forums. For context, these flashbacks are a symptom of PTSD that I was diagnosed with in 2021, and were not flashbacks related to gmod. I ended up pulling away from a lot of my friends and tried to isolate myself in an effort to recover from the damage I was doing to myself mentally.
I started playing consistently again in May of this year, and I was really nervous to start showing up more often because I thought that everyone would remember what happened the year before and hate me for it. This unfortunately did happen twice, but overall I was having a wonderful time. I reconnected with old friends and made a lot of new friends, and I was honestly having a lot of fun. Regardless of this though, I still didn’t want to recreate my forum account, and I was content avoiding the Discord and the forums if it meant peace of mind. But I really do like this community and the people in it, and I want to give myself the opportunity to at least try to right some wrongs, even if it doesn’t work out in my favor.

I really don’t want to re-hash this shit, but I will address what I did wrong that led to me getting banned: I made a very serious accusation against someone, an accusation that should only be made with 100% proof and certainty, and I was wrong. It was a very, very, big mistake, and I regret it literally every single day.
I know a lot of people from back then believe I made this accusation in bad faith in order to “get rid” of someone I simply didn’t like, and I don’t blame them for believing that. There was zero communication between myself and a lot of the people who were friends with this individual, and it was easy for both them and myself to get stuck in an echo chamber where the opposite party was 100% wrong, evil, and would take the other person down at any cost. Making this kind of accusation and it ending up false is heinous.
I can’t say enough how sorry I am to those I dragged into my mess, both friends and other community members who believed me. I’ve felt so much shame for my actions since the moment I found out that my accusation was false. It falls solely on me for making an accusation of this nature so carelessly.
My intent was NEVER to lie about it. This is a topic I take incredibly seriously, and I’m angry at myself for my recklessness. I wholeheartedly believed that I was told something heinous had occurred, and I did send it to the admins at the time so they could do their own investigation. (Without digging into details, I was told something by a third party from a long time ago that led me to believe that this accusation was 100% accurate, which is still purely my mistake for relying on old information that could be (and was) false) Afterwards, though, I heard nothing. I felt like I was being ignored, and I felt that my concerns were worthless to them. In my impatience and frustration, both at completely unrelated drama that had been unfolding parallel to this as well as my perceived inaction of the admins, I brought the accusation to the forums and to the Discord. This was my mistake, and a grave one. I regret my actions immensely, and I am so sorry to everyone. Since these events that I caused and the ensuing blowup that ended up lasting for months, I’ve had to take a lot of time to myself and away from Dink’s and Dink’s-related places in order to process the shit I had done. i feel that i should be given a second chance because i have done a lot of introspection giving me a new perspective on things while also improving my support structures to help me deal with things that bother me rather than airing it out in the general chat and indirectly hurting people including staff alike. i also have discussed a lot with closer friends like beaker and others regarding about things i want to focus on about like school, careers, relationship building, discipline, etc. i have also began getting into hobbies like fishing, walking outside aiming for 5-10k steps a day, reading, journaling, meditation, and gardening as these hobbies help me keep grounded mentally. with meditation and walks helping me out the most as i use them to self reflect about my actions and how they may affect the people who surround me. another thing i would like to point out is that i have a strong interest in making sure the dink's community is free of institutionalized racism and gender discrimination. while i haven't always been free of faults, no one has ever accused me of not caring. i've been part of many controversies, but i always strive to make dink's a better place, even if sometimes that comes at the expense of the comfort of certain kinds of gamers. while i can sometimes be harsh, and that's something i'm working on, no one can genuinely say my concerns haven't been valid. and for what it's worth, the community has markedly improved as of late. i'm not so self-centered as to say that's because of my efforts, but i am satisfied with the direction dink's is heading as of today. i don't usually ramble this long but i feel as though this topic deserved a bit of explanation, all things considered. thank you if you got to the end.]]> Your Discord Username: U8336Tea

I am going to make this short, as I have already apologized in my last unban request. I will go into a little detail on myself over the last few months between now and my last unban request from August, I would like to speak against my actions that had lead to my ban on the Discord server. 

Since the last unban request, I have considerably decreased my consumption of alcohol. Most of my minor infractions within this community has stemmed from alcohol. Again, I will not use this as an excuse, because it isn’t, but this was the main “solution” I used when battling other things in my life. I have attended substance abuse classes weekly, individual counseling for things, and overall have bettered my life greatly. 

In the events leading up to my ban, I had a tendency to slur. Looking back at it, I wish I hadn’t. I used to be a staff member, a great and devoted staff member. I took a lot of time ensuring this community was made a safe and fun environment for everyone, yet I went against my own values and said some poorly worded things. So again, I want to apologize to Tiefling, the community as a whole, and myself. 

I hope I can have a second chance to show that I am not the same person as I was.

What would you like to tell us:
First off I would just like to apologize to Tiefling for using poor choice of wordage and anyone else I potentially may have offended. My actions before June and leading up to it were a spiraling chain of events that definitely shouldn't be tolerated. So I would like to take this time to say that I am sorry for the things that I have said during my previous tenure. I am far from a bad person, homophobic, or anything in a bad nature. A lot of my mistakes stem from an alcohol addiction. By no means is this an excuse though. 

A little backstory about me, I have had a very very rough past few years. Without going into great detail, I had a tough time overseas back in 2020, losing someone I knew in 2021, losing another person in 2022, losing a very close friend last September, then losing my grandfather last November. Don't want to expand further, a few select people here know about these things, just wanted to give a little insight on what has troubled me. 

When I first joined I had very minor issues that I quickly worked out and eventually bettered myself to be able to staff in 3 separate areas within the community. I would like to say that I was pretty good at it. I enjoyed it, it sorta kept me busy and gave me something to get my mind off things. I began to have issues starting off last September when I lost a person I knew very well and then my grandfather very shortly after. During that time leading up to around June I was drinking in excessive amounts to help cope with things. Alcoholic while technically is chemically a solution, it is not a solution to life's issues.

Since my last unban request I have spent the time to improve on myself. I have attended professional counseling for my issues and alcohol addiction. I had set a goal to not drink for 30 days, while I didn't make it to 30, I made it to roughly 28 days. Since then I have severely cut it back to just a few. A few people here can attest to this.

To address the poor people shit as well, if I get unbanned I will cut that out at the best of my ability. While not against the rules, I guess it is sorta annoying for some.

I discussed what i want to say in my TTT ban appeal regarding this. Me and Harmful Spud were messing around. I tagged them as a joke, they jokingly threatened to use theirr discord mod powers and I said what I said referencing the "stereotypical discord mod" meme. Apperantly there was on going drama that I wasn't aware of when I made that joke and I caused a lot of outrage in the community because a lot of people thought I was referencing or making fun of it. 

As stated in my last ban appeal "Someone informed me about the drama that happened and that apperantly most of you think I made the joke with this context in mind trying to bait. I was not aware (and I'm still not tbh but its not my place to know the details) of anything that cospired before the joke and I apologize." 

Reina mentioned that her decision wasn't based on that but it definitely had an effect on the negative response from the community. On top of that, I'd like apologise for my initial ban appeal since I first got a warning and sometime later a ban for the same offense I thought it was a bug at first so the whole tone of the appeal at first was very unserious. Also I posted the evidence of the ban and people thought I was doing it maliciously or doubling down on my comment. My intention was only to present why I was banned for.

During those 3 months I gave various apologies several times in two (now three) different threads now. This ban heavily affected my TTT unban and because of this joke I am still soft banned for a year on TTT. I recognised that I shouldn't have and should not be making that kind of joke back in my discord ban appeal. Honestly If Spud was offended by this comment then I encourage him to reach out to me so I could apologise to them personally. I don't know them and wouldn't seriously imply an accusation like that towards someone. But it clearly was not directed at him and more the concept of a discord mod itself and was clearly an edgy joke. A bad joke that shouldn't have been made in the first place? YES.

Considering how the community went to shit and started throwing actual accusations during this last month and the majority of them got temp bans I think this is worth a consideration.
